Bibione lies on the upper Adriatic sea, about half way between Venice and Trieste, on a stretch of coast known as the "Venetian Coast".

Its characteristic environment and easy access make Bibione a favourite international tourist destination.

Bibione began to develop as a resort in the 1950s, and has therefore existed for over half a century as a successful tourist destination. With its perfect combination of clean sea and fine sandy beach, Bibione has been able to renew its image in line with the times without destroying its particularly valuable natural environment. Bibione has held the Blue Flag eco-award for 19 years. The town is also certified to EMAS and ISO 14001 standards in recognition of its excellent environmental policies.
